After Mahesh Babu and Vijay saying no to play Aamir Khan’s role in Telugu and Tamil respectively, Shankar decided to rope popular actor Surya to play in Telugu and Tamil.
Surya reportedly demanded Rs 20 crore to play leading role in both versions of the movie. Aamir Khan made over Rs 20 crore wih 3 Idiots in Hindi apart from director Raju Hirani. Ileana is playing Kareena Kapoor’s role in Telugu and Tamil.
Surya was appreciated for his sterling performance in Rakta Charitra 2. There are no doubts about his acting abilities but producer will heed to his demand or not is a million dollar question.
Gemini Film Circuit is remaking the movie. They also made earlier Shankar Dada MBBS and Shankar Dada Zindabad both starring Chiranjeevi. While MBBS was a hit Zindabad disappointed at the box-office
